My story begins just outside Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Growing up, my Mom had always told me that when I was in college she was making me study abroad whether I liked it or not. Being a child who was constantly fascinated with the world and other cultures, this never bothered me that she was eventually going to be making me do this. After all, I was the kid who sat in front of the TV watching the Olympic opening ceremonies with an Atlas looking up every single country they announced.
I did end up studying abroad during college. I studied and lived in Granada, Spain for 6 months in 2010. That is where my wanderlust truly came from. Ever since I returned from my trip, I’ve wanted to return to foreign country and come to better understand a different culture. While working at a monotonous 9 to 5 job, a realized that I needed to drop everything and go follow my passion of travel.
In the future, I am not 100% sure where I will be, and that is perfectly okay with me. I’m just enjoying what life brings my way. I don’t have a life map or plan that I’m following. I’m solely living in moment and seeing where it will take me. There certainly be plenty of ups and downs along my journey, and while I will be looking forward to the ups, I know that I’ll grow much more from the downs.
I’ll be keeping you updated on all the twists and turns of my exciting journey, as I’m sure there will be many. Although I’m moving forward with my life without a map, I can honestly say that I have never been more confident with any other decision I’ve made.
If you have questions, comments, or anything else, please feel free to contact me.
Are you in spain now, hopefully I will be leaving in september too. My journey sounds like yours. Damn it study abroad. 🙂

I thought I’d pick a place I’ve never been to. They don’t have too many placements based on past years, so it may not work out, but we’ll see!
